Established in 1969 as a non-sectarian, non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, Menorah Housing Foundation develops and manages affordable independent-living senior apartment units. The corporation has developed and manages 1093 apartment units in sixteen buildings geographically dispersed throughout Los Angeles County. An additional 46 units are currently under construction.
MHF enables very low-income seniors on fixed incomes to occupy safe, sanitary, accessible housing which they would otherwise be unable to afford in the local housing market. Offering more than 1,500 existing residents 62 years of age or older an attractive affordable apartment, MHF provides outreach and low-cost tenant services to the region's senior population, and creates a socially vibrant community for tenants.
